All parents and family members are encouraged to help out with their child’s section at times and this role will enable you to do this whenever you can by joining a rota of other parents without promising a regular commitment. You can also become a “Group Scout Active Support Member”.

This role is for those who would like to help once a month or every 5 or 6 weeks. Occasional Helpers also provide vital support to the leader teams on day trips and sometimes with transport for overnight experiences (called Nights Away).

Occasional Helpers might also have particular skills that could enhance the programme of activities assisting the young people to gain a badge. Examples of skills might be; cooking, craftwork, speaking another language, an employee in one of the services or someone in the building trade such as a carpenter or electrician.

Guidance will be provided so no previous experience is necessary. You only need have enthusiasm and a willingness to be part of the team.
