Do you have good administrative skills? Then this role could be perfect for you.

The Group secretary assists the chair and Group Scout Leader to provide effective administrative support for the Group. This includes taking the minutes of the governance meetings, called the Group Executive Committee, drafting correspondence as required, assisting with the annual Scout Association census return and maintaining records for the members.

This may sound formal and to a certain extent it must be, the committee is usually made up of parents of the children or friends of the Group and so can be quite relaxed.

Ideally you would have access to a computer at home and be able to communicate by email. This role is ideal for someone who does not necessarily wish to work directly with young people but would still like to help to provide behind the scenes support.
