Group Scout Leader (GSL)

This pivotal role is vital to the smooth running of the Group. The GSL manages the leaders and appoints the Group Chair which means they need to have a good working relationship with all the adults in the Group. The GSL is also responsible for ensuring all the adults in the Group have or are undertaking relevant training.

The GSL ensures the leader teams are planning dynamic and exciting programmes so the young people are enjoying their Scouting experience. They are also responsible for ensuring that all adult members are following the Scout Association’s purpose and policies.

This role is ideal for someone who would like to work with adults and young people. No particular experience in management is necessary and this role would suit someone who may not be able to volunteer every week but has an enthusiastic outlook to manage teams of adults.
