If you have an aptitude for looking after and maintaining equipment, then this role is ideal for you. It is an exceptionally rewarding role as you would ensure the Group’s equipment is in good condition when needed for camp. There is nothing worse than going to camp and finding the tent you want to use has no pegs or there is a pole missing!

The role requires some administrative skills as you will need to keep an inventory for insurance and a booking system. This is also because the leaders would need to know what equipment is available at any given time. The Equipment Manager is also required to attend the Group Governance meeting from time to time particularly if equipment needs to be purchased.

The committee is usually made up from parents of the children or friends of the Group so it can be quite relaxed.
